Histological and immunofluorescent appearance of the small follicle observed in an IBD virus vaccine strain-administered chicken. Almost all lymphocytes were depleted in the small follicle area (A), but the BM-associated epithelium was retained (B). The small follicle lacked a cortical area, and the BM and BM-associated epithelium lined the outer boundary (C and D).
